Poseidon on the beach
I was in San Diego this past weekend for Sharon’s bachelorette party. On Saturday morning, we headed over to Poseidon in Del Mar to have some brunch. The restaurant is right on the beach, but we were pretty disappointed because there was so much fog we couldn’t really enjoy the view. Fortunately, that didn’t stop us from enjoying our meal! I didn’t get a chance to photograph everyone’s food (we were starving so we dug right in!) but here is a peek at two delicious breakfast meals…

Viva Las Vegas!
I just returned from my sister’s bachelorette celebration in Las Vegas. What a fun-filled (and exhausting) weekend!
Here is a peek at some of the junk food we munched on in our Palazzo Bella Suite. A bachelorette party is always a perfect excuse to let loose and enjoy your favorite unhealthy snacks!

For Saturday brunch, we ate at Thomas Keller’s Bouchon Restaurant. I’ve heard nothing but good reviews about the famed Napa Valley culinary giant, so I was excited to eat here. I ordered the Omelette du Jour with ham & spinach. I also tasted some of the chicken & waffles (amazing!) and the pomme frites (perfection!) The food definitely exceeded my expectations! Now I just need to make my way to French Laundry…

My sister loves Mexican food, so I worked with Dos Caminos special events coordinator Rocco Gonzalez to create a special bachelorette menu for her. All of the food was served family style and I especially loved the chocolate fondue with churros, brownies, peanut butter krispies, coconut macaroons, passion fruit marshmellows, and an assortment of fruits. Yum! Unfortunately, my camera battery died during dinner so I didn’t get to take any pictures of our food. BOO.
Congrats, Unnie!

alcove
My girlfriends and I celebrated Janice’s birthday over brunch at Alcove Cafe & Bakery in LA yesterday. We enjoyed the beautiful afternoon and pleasant Los Feliz neighborhood as we sat in the outdoor patio. The food was amazing — everyone enjoyed their dish, whether it was a breakfast or lunch item. The pastries and desserts looked so delicious, but unfortunately I didn’t get to try any. It’s ok, though, because I know my sweet tooth will definitely find it’s way back here soon!

lime
On my last morning in SF, my friends and I headed to the Castro for Sunday brunch at Lime. With bright colored walls and loud bumpin’ music, I felt as if this place came straight out of a scene from Sex and the City. Unfortunately, I had a huge hangover from the previous night which didn’t compliment this atmosphere at all. But when the server arrived with our biscuits and bottomless mimosas, I couldn’t help but start to enjoy myself. After all, I can’t let a hangover get in the way of good company and good food!
